Dfns now supports Cosmos Hub as a Tier-1 blockchain, bringing secure wallet infrastructure to one of the most important networks in the blockchain ecosystem.
We’re excited to share that Cosmos is now fully integrated into the Dfns Wallet-as-a-Service platform as a Tier-1 blockchain. Developers and institutions can now create Cosmos wallets, sign and send ATOM transactions, and access the full range of wallet features securely, programmatically, and at scale. This launch marks the first step in our broader support for the Cosmos ecosystem. We’re working to add support for IBC and CW20 token standards, as well as Cosmos SDK-based appchains, so teams building across the interchain ecosystem can rely on Dfns for secure and scalable wallet infrastructure.
What is Cosmos and why it stands out
Cosmos is a multichain network of sovereign Layer-1 blockchains, built to interoperate natively via a shared communication protocol. Since its inception, Cosmos has been synonymous with the concept of the “interchain” — a vision rooted in sovereignty, permissionless interoperability, and decentralization. These founding principles stand in contrast to ecosystems built on closed-source code, trust-based messaging, or centralizing infrastructure that mimics the rent-seeking monopolies of Web2.
Each appchain in Cosmos is fully independent, but built using a common stack: CometBFT for consensus, the Cosmos SDK for chain logic, and IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication) to enable trustless messaging between chains. This shared tooling enables a wide range of use cases — from trading (Osmosis, dYdX) and stablecoins (Noble, Stable) to bridging (Axelar), tokenization (Ondo, Lombard, Provenance), and EVM compatibility (Ripple XRPL, TAC).
At the center of the network is the Cosmos Hub, the first blockchain launched in the network, and the pioneer of IBC. Since 2019, the Hub has served as both a testbed and anchor for the broader interchain vision. It introduced early innovations in Proof-of-Stake and now plays a key role in securing other chains via Interchain Security. Its native token, ATOM, is used for staking, gas, and governance.
Today, Cosmos connects more than 120 IBC-enabled blockchains in production, with over 200 Cosmos chains overall. The ecosystem processes millions of cross-chain transactions every month and secures billions in value. Appchains built with Cosmos are fast (~500ms finality), low-cost (fees around $0.01), and sovereign by design — giving developers full control over logic, upgrades, and governance.
Cosmos now supported by Dfns wallet infrastructure
Cosmos is now fully integrated into Dfns as a Tier 1 blockchain. This means users and developers get access to the full suite of Dfns wallet, transaction, and webhook features on the Cosmos Hub:
- Automatic asset detection: Dfns wallets instantly detect ATOM and show real-time balances.
- Onchain transfer history: Track all incoming and outgoing transactions for clear audit trails and automated monitoring.
- Secure transaction management: Use the Dfns API or dashboard to sign, send, and broadcast transactions.
- Webhook support: Get real-time alerts for balance updates, asset movements, and onchain events all powered by Dfns’ indexing engine.
Whether you're building interchain apps, institutional wallets, or multichain systems, Dfns gives you the secure and scalable infrastructure to support Cosmos from day one.
