Mateus dal Bianco joins Dfns as Senior Frontend Engineer.

We’re excited to welcome Mateus to Dfns as a Senior Frontend Engineer. He brings strong frontend expertise alongside hands-on experience across the stack, including infrastructure. Mateus has built and scaled production applications, worked on crypto wallets and interfaces, and designed onchain transaction flows used in real-world systems. A Bitcoin user since 2013, he works at the intersection of blockchain, developer tooling, and financial infrastructure.

From frontend depth to full-stack crypto systems

Most recently, as cofounder and Head of Software at Quartzo Studio, Mateus shipped production products, ran infrastructure, built DeFi prototypes on Bitcoin Cash, adapted complex frontends to new execution environments, and contributed to open-source wallets. Before that, at Nash, he helped scale a non-custodial wallet and exchange, built fiat on-ramps and SDKs, redesigned onchain transaction flows, and supported the move to MPC-based transaction submission. He also led a frontend team and improved delivery, QA, and release processes across web and mobile.

Over time, Mateus has grown from a strong frontend engineer into someone who owns systems end to end. He consistently ships, scales, and maintains user-facing products that sit directly on top of blockchain and financial infrastructure. His work spans web and mobile, wallet and protocol integrations, and the practical constraints of cryptography, transaction lifecycles, and secure execution. This mix of UI craft and protocol awareness is critical when building financial interfaces where correctness, clarity, and trust matter as much as speed.

Building the new user-facing layers of Dfns

At Dfns, Mateus works on the user-facing side of the platform. This is not a narrow frontend role. It covers web and mobile apps, SDKs, and developer tools. He owns features end to end, from early design to production and iteration. His work focuses on:

  • Building and improving web and mobile applications for our Wallets-as-a-Service platform
  • Designing interfaces that feel fast, clear, and trustworthy, even when backed by complex cryptography and policy logic
  • Developing SDKs and integration tools that make secure wallet integration easy for developers
  • Bringing fintech-grade UX to blockchain wallets, with simple and explicit flows for authentication, permissions, and transactions
  • Designing for clean architecture, performance, and security, without trading reliability for speed
  • Working closely with product and design to ship features quickly and with rigor
  • Writing clear documentation, reviewing code, and maintaining a high bar for quality

Mateus brings hands-on experience with non-custodial systems, MPC-based transaction flows, secure authentication, mobile apps, and developer tooling. He’s a strong fit for the problems Dfns tackles every day, and we’re excited to have him shaping the interfaces and tools that developers, admins, and end users rely on to move money securely onchain.
