Dfns welcomes John Walsh as our new Strategic Account Manager for the Americas.

As our first dedicated leader for post-close success in North and South America, John will manage some of the most important institutional relationships in our ecosystem. His role is both commercial and technical: strengthen retention, drive adoption, support expansion, and help clients scale their use of Dfns’ wallet infrastructure across complex regulatory, cloud, and operational environments.

John joins Dfns at a pivotal moment, as banks and fintechs raise the bar for reliability, governance, and institutional service quality. His arrival underscores our commitment to match world-class infrastructure with world-class partnership and execution.

A career built on client success and enterprise collaboration

John brings more than two decades of experience shaping successful customer relationships across blockchain, data analytics, enterprise SaaS, and financial innovation. Most recently, he has led Web3 business development efforts for emerging Layer 1 and blockchain infrastructure projects, from initial engagement all the way through campaign execution and ecosystem growth. His ability to synthesize technical requirements, competitive positioning, and commercial strategy made him a core player in helping teams scale across global markets.

Before that, John served as Success Lead for Chainlink’s BUILD program, partnering with high-growth crypto teams on onboarding, adoption, integrations, and stakeholder management. There, he helped founders and engineering leaders deploy complex infrastructure in production environments while aligning technical needs with long-term business goals.

Earlier roles at Refinitiv/Thomson Reuters and Booz Allen Hamilton cemented his track record in account management, post-sales success, innovation sourcing, and customer experience for enterprise clients, banks, and financial institutions. Across these roles he built a reputation for durability, clarity, and trust, qualities essential for wallet infrastructure that underpins mission-critical operations.

Turning Strategic Accounts into a growth engine for Dfns

The role John joins requires someone capable of operating in technical, commercial, and regulated environments at once. John stood out because his background maps precisely to the expectations of the role. As Strategic Account Manager, he will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for institutions, fintechs, banks, and crypto-native firms across the Americas
  • Lead post-close success, including onboarding, enablement, ongoing support, and business reviews
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across product, engineering, compliance, and executive teams
  • Identify and execute upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities to support revenue growth
  • Guide customers through API-driven workflows, governance models, policy engines, cloud deployments, and multi-chain production setups
  • Lead contract renewals, commercial negotiations, and long-term alignment
  • Build tailored success plans and adoption strategies for every account
  • Serve as the internal voice of the customer, partnering with product to shape priorities and roadmap decisions
  • Represent Dfns at conferences, workshops, and customer events throughout the Americas

John’s ability to operate at the intersection of infrastructure, customer success, regulatory complexity, and enterprise expectations is precisely what this role requires. His experience supporting technical teams and navigating multi-stakeholder environments makes him uniquely equipped to bring clarity, momentum, and structure to our largest and most demanding accounts.
