We welcome Gautier Wojda to Dfns as our Senior Core Systems Engineer.
Gautier joins us with a rare combination of deep systems expertise, hands-on blockchain experience, and a track record of operating in environments where security, performance, and reliability are critical. His work focuses on designing and securing production systems that carry real stakes, which aligns directly with the type of infrastructure we build at Dfns.
His experience spans blockchain protocol design, smart contract development, security auditing, and high-performance backend engineering in Rust. Beyond implementation, he has consistently taken ownership of systems end to end, from architecture decisions to delivery, while mentoring teams and ensuring that what gets shipped is both robust and maintainable. This ability to combine low-level understanding with distributed system design is central to how we approach infrastructure.
A systems engineer shaped by production and security
Gautier’s engineering approach is grounded in a strong systems background, shaped early on through rigorous training at 42 Paris, where he built components such as a kernel from scratch, custom Linux environments, and low-level system tooling. This foundation translates into a way of thinking that prioritizes clarity, control, and resilience, especially when systems are pushed to their limits.
He has applied this mindset across a range of high-stakes environments. At DFINITY Foundation, he acted as a Protocol, Security & Systems Reviewer, serving as a final validation layer before production releases. His work involved deep analysis of protocol changes, identifying risks across runtimes, smart contracts, and distributed infrastructure, and ensuring that systems remained secure and reliable over time.
He later served as CTO of Origyn Foundation, where he led engineering efforts while remaining hands-on in Rust development, and contributed significantly at Bity as both a staff engineer and SRE. Across these roles, he worked on large-scale blockchain systems, led technical teams, and delivered production-grade infrastructure, including early implementations in emerging ecosystems. Earlier in his career, his work in cybersecurity platforms, DevOps, and kernel hardening further reinforced his ability to operate across the full stack, from infrastructure to application logic.
Strengthening Dfns’ core infrastructure
At Dfns, we are building an institutional-grade security and orchestration layer for digital asset operations. Wallets are a central unit in this model, but they are only one part of a broader system that includes key management, policy enforcement, transaction workflows, and auditability across organizations. Delivering this requires engineers who can reason about complex systems holistically and execute with precision.
Gautier will contribute directly to this effort, including working on the strict roadmap defined with IBM, where engineering discipline is paired with demanding acceptance criteria. This work requires a strong focus on service level objectives, predictable system behavior under load, and the ability to meet stringent reliability and performance guarantees expected in institutional environments.
His scope will also cover critical components of our infrastructure, including database consistency models, signer development, and end-to-end data integrity across transaction flows. These are foundational elements of the Dfns platform, where correctness is as important as performance, and where every operation must be traceable, verifiable, and resilient to failure.
Gautier brings the ability to reason about these systems at a fundamental level, to secure them against real-world risks, and to deliver production-grade infrastructure that meets the expectations of banks and large financial institutions. His experience operating independently, while maintaining a high bar for quality and reliability, makes him a strong addition to the team as we continue to scale the platform.
We’re thrilled to have Gautier join Dfns and contribute to the next phase of our infrastructure.
