NEAR Tier 2 Support

NEAR is a modular, high-speed protocol designed for AI to act on behalf of users. Not just compute, but transact, coordinate, and evolve. With this Tier 2 integration, fintechs and other applications, like KAI-CHING and Swe.at, can create NEAR wallets and send native NEAR tokens using our API or dashboard. Full Tier 1 support is on the way, including asset indexing, token detection, and webhook features in the coming months.

NEAR, the first AI-centric blockchain

NEAR is the first blockchain built with AI in mind from day one. Originally founded as an AI startup, NEAR has evolved into a blockchain platform that’s fast, scalable, and easy to use for both humans and autonomous agents. Its mission is to remove the complexity that has slowed down mainstream adoption of digital assets, while laying the technical foundation for a new kind of internet powered by AI.

Technically, NEAR combines a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism with innovations like Nightshade sharding, account abstraction, and a developer-friendly stack. Transactions are fast (settling in under two seconds) and cost less than $0.01. For developers, NEAR supports multiple programming environments. Smart contracts can be written in Rust or JavaScript, and Solidity contracts can run seamlessly on Aurora, NEAR’s EVM-compatible layer.

NEAR has processed over three billion transactions to date, with daily peaks above 13 million and no downtime over the past four years. High-usage apps like KAI-CHING, which currently ranks #1 globally on DappRadar, and Swe.at, a move-to-earn fitness app, show how NEAR’s technical design translates into real-world adoption at scale.

NEAR is also deeply committed to sustainability. Its proof-of-stake model keeps it carbon-neutral, using less energy per year than Bitcoin does in just a few minutes. And as it moves toward the next wave of improvements (including stateless validation, zk-WASM, and dynamic sharding) NEAR is positioning itself not just as a high-performance blockchain, but as the execution layer for an open, AI-native internet.

NEAR, now supported by Dfns wallets

NEAR is now fully integrated into the Dfns platform as a Tier 2 blockchain. Developers and institutions can create NEAR wallets, sign transactions, and transfer the NEAR token all with the same enterprise-grade security that powers every Dfns wallet. Access is available both via API and through the Dfns dashboard. This first phase includes everything you need to get started on NEAR:

• Wallet creation on testnet and mainnet
• Native NEAR balance detection
• Transaction signing and secure broadcasting

As a Tier 2 integration, NEAR is not yet indexed. This means a few features are not currently supported:

• No onchain transaction history
• No auto-detection of tokens or NFTs (e.g., NEP-141)
• No webhooks for balance or activity updates

These will come with the upcoming Tier 1 integration, which will add full indexing, token discovery, and real-time monitoring. Once live, you’ll be able to build more advanced use cases, like automated treasury flows, multichain tracking, and compliance workflows.
