Bob, a Bitcoin-first Layer 2 built on the OP Stack, now fully integrated as a Tier-1 blockchain by Dfns.

We're excited to announce that Bob is now fully integrated into the Dfns Wallet-as-a-Service platform as a Tier-1 blockchain. This means developers and institutions can now access all wallet and transaction capabilities on Bob securely, programmatically, and at scale.

What is Bob?

Bob is a high-performance Layer 2 rollup that brings Bitcoin to modern smart contract infrastructure. Built using the OP Stack and backed by Bitcoin's economic security, Bob enables developers to build Ethereum-style applications with native BTC support. Its goal: unify the liquidity, user base, and credibility of Bitcoin with the programmability and scalability of rollups.

Key features include:

  • Bitcoin-first: Bob is the first rollup designed from the ground up for BTC-native assets and users.
  • OP Stack compatibility: Developers can deploy EVM smart contracts with familiar tools and workflows.
  • Modular architecture: Bob separates execution from consensus, leveraging Bitcoin for finality while enabling high-speed on-chain applications.
  • Fast and developer-friendly: With low fees, fast finality, and a familiar dev environment, Bob lowers the barrier to building powerful Bitcoin-based dApps.

Dfns unlocks Tier-1 status for Bob

Our Tier-1 integration with Bob offers seamless wallet functionality through the Dfns API, including:

  • Automatic asset detection: Instantly view Bob-based assets in every wallet. No manual setup.
  • Transfer history: Keep track of all Bob transactions for compliance, reporting and user experience.
  • Transaction management: Sign and send Bob transactions securely, with full audit logging and multi-tenant controls.
  • Webhook notifications: Subscribe to real-time balance updates and transaction events to build responsive apps and services.

With Dfns, developers can now build on Bob trading apps, tokenization platforms, cross-chain services, payment flows, and any financial use case bridging Bitcoin with modern smart contracts.
