XDC Network now available on Dfns (Mainnet + Apothem Testnet)

Dfns now supports XDC Network with full Tier-1 integration, including mainnet and Apothem testnet. This integration brings XDC into the Dfns platform as a fully operational environment for institutions building trade finance infrastructure, cross-border payment systems, and real-world asset tokenization platforms.

Through the Dfns partnership with IBM, XDC is also now accessible within IBM Digital Asset Haven, extending its reach to enterprise clients leveraging IBM’s digital asset infrastructure stack.

What is XDC Network?

XDC Network is an enterprise-grade, open-source Layer 1 blockchain purpose-built for trade finance, cross-border payments, and real-world asset tokenization.

While most blockchain networks target broad DeFi use cases, XDC focuses on the core workflows that underpin global commerce: digitizing trade instruments, tokenizing financial assets, and enabling efficient data exchange and settlement across borders.

The network is EVM-compatible, providing a familiar development environment for teams already building on Ethereum-based infrastructure. Key characteristics include:

  • XDPoS consensus: XinFin Delegated Proof of Stake delivering ~2,000 TPS with ~2-second finality
  • Low transaction costs: optimized for high-frequency, enterprise-scale operations
  • XDC Subnets: dedicated blockchain environments tailored to regulatory or operational requirements
  • Smart contract support: full EVM compatibility with the XRC-20 token standard

The XDC ecosystem includes integrations with Plug and Play, Ankr, Archax, Elliptic, and Circle. Combined with native USDC support and recent U.S. regulatory developments, XDC is increasingly positioned as infrastructure for compliant institutional adoption.

Full tier-1 support on Dfns

Dfns provides full Tier-1 support for XDC, giving institutions access to a complete, programmable wallet infrastructure layer:

  • Wallet creation: programmatic provisioning via API
  • Native transfers: send and receive XDC
  • Token transfers: support for XRC-20 tokens, including stablecoins and tokenized assets
  • Smart contract execution: interact with onchain applications and financial workflows
  • Transaction broadcasting: submit transactions to mainnet or testnet
  • Secure signing: all operations run through Dfns’ distributed MPC infrastructure (no private key reconstruction)
  • Balance retrieval: query XDC and token balances across wallets
  • Webhook notifications: real-time transaction and balance updates

All operations are secured by Dfns’ zero trust architecture, with SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications. Dfns operates strictly as a technology provider. Custody remains under the client’s own regulatory perimeter and licensing framework.

In addition, native USDC on XDC (XDC-native) is now supported, expanding stablecoin-based settlement capabilities across the network.

Last, staking support will be added soon, further enabling yield and network participation use cases.

Building trade finance on XDC with Dfns

XDC’s design aligns directly with the institutional use cases Dfns infrastructure supports.

Examples include:

  • Tokenized trade instruments: Digitize letters of credit, bills of lading, and receivables with embedded governance and policy enforcement
  • Real-world asset tokenization: Structure, mint, and distribute tokenized financial products with compliant transaction workflows
  • Cross-border settlement: Use stablecoins like native USDC on XDC for low-cost, high-throughput settlement across trade corridors
  • Enterprise treasury management: Manage XDC and stablecoin balances with granular access controls, approval workflows, and audit trails
  • Supply chain finance automation: Trigger payments programmatically based on trade milestones using smart contracts

XDC joins 60+ blockchain networks supported on Dfns, powering digital asset operations for 400+ institutional clients.
