Welcoming Zoran Cvetkov to Dfns as our Staff Core Systems Engineer

We’re excited to welcome Zoran Cvetkov to Dfns as our newest Senior Core Systems Engineer. Zoran brings more than two decades of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on systems development, cryptography, and blockchain infrastructure. His background spans from low-level C++ systems and algorithm design to modern distributed systems, giving him a depth of perspective that is rare and highly valuable in the type of infrastructure we are building at Dfns.

Over the years, he has consistently worked on complex, performance-critical systems, where precision, efficiency, and reliability are essential. His experience across both traditional software engineering and blockchain ecosystems positions him well to contribute to the core of our platform.

A career built on systems, cryptography, and performance

Zoran’s engineering journey is rooted in strong fundamentals. Early in his career, he spent nearly a decade at AutoForm Engineering, where he developed advanced algorithms for processing 2D and 3D geometries in C++. This work required a deep understanding of performance optimization, numerical methods, and system efficiency, all of which continue to shape his approach to engineering today.

He later worked on a variety of systems across industries, including distributed storage at Wuala, mobile and core systems development, and performance-focused applications. His transition into blockchain and cryptography came through Securosys in Zurich, where he spent close to seven years as a Senior Software Engineer working on secure infrastructure for Bitcoin and Ethereum. This experience gave him a strong foundation in key management, hardware security, and production-grade cryptographic systems.

More recently, Zoran worked at DFINITY and Edge & Node, contributing to the development of decentralized infrastructure and blockchain-based systems. Across these roles, he has consistently operated at the intersection of protocol design, backend systems, and distributed architectures, with a focus on building reliable systems that can scale.

Strengthening Dfns’ core infrastructure

At Dfns, we are building an institutional-grade orchestration layer for digital asset operations, where security, correctness, and reliability are not optional. Our platform sits at the core of how banks and fintechs manage wallets, keys, and transactions, which requires a deep understanding of both distributed systems and cryptographic infrastructure.

Zoran’s experience aligns directly with this mission. His background in secure systems, combined with years of hands-on work in blockchain environments, allows him to contribute to the most critical parts of our stack. He brings a strong focus on performance and correctness, and an ability to design systems that behave predictably under real-world constraints.

His experience working on production systems across multiple domains, from cryptographic infrastructure to distributed platforms, reinforces our ability to build resilient and scalable systems for institutional clients. At Dfns, this translates into strengthening core components such as transaction processing, system reliability, and the broader infrastructure that underpins wallet operations.

We’re thrilled to have Zoran join the team and contribute to the next phase of our platform.

We’re hiring
