Coinbase Integration

We’re excited to announce that Coinbase is now integrated into the Dfns platform. This integration allows users to access Coinbase's advanced trading and custody services more easily and securely through Dfns. It keeps sensitive tasks within your security perimeter and operational workflows.

What the Coinbase integration brings to Dfns

Our exchange integration makes it easy to securely deposit and withdraw funds between Dfns wallets and the centralized exchanges. With the Coinbase Prime integration, you can now:

• Link accounts: Connect your Coinbase Prime account to manage funds through Dfns.
• Check balances: View real-time Coinbase Prime balances directly in the Dfns dashboard.
• Deposit funds: Transfer assets from Dfns wallets to Coinbase Prime on all blockchains.
• Withdraw funds: Move assets securely from Coinbase Prime to your Dfns wallet.

Coming soon:

• Transfer history: A detailed log of all deposits, withdrawals, and fund movements.
• Policy integration: Set rules to govern withdrawals and transfers.

Security essentials and configuration details

Security is a top priority in all centralized exchange integrations, and managing API keys is essential to protecting access. Here’s how we ensure robust security:

• Encrypted API key storage: Your API keys are securely encrypted using AWS Key Management Services and can only be decrypted with a cryptographic signature from the wallet administrator.
• Separate API keys for ‘read’ and ‘write’: Two sets of API keys enhance security, one for viewing balances and another for executing transfers. Write keys are only activated when a transaction is signed.

Fortunately, Coinbase enables two-factor authentication (2FA) by default, adding a strong layer of security for all withdrawals. This helps protect API keys and ensures they are accessed only when truly needed.

Guidelines to get started today with Dfns

Setting up the Coinbase Prime integration is easy:

1. Log in to your Dfns account.
2. Go to Settings > Exchanges.
3. Click New and select Coinbase Prime.
4. Enter your Coinbase API keys (both read and write keys).
5. For withdrawals, whitelist your Dfns wallet in Coinbase Prime.

Once connected, you can securely manage your funds between Dfns and Coinbase Prime.
