Dfns is launching general availability and introducing our new Starter Plan at $50/month.
We’ve waited four years to write this post. Not because we didn’t want to offer Dfns to the broader community earlier, but because we wanted to do it right. Today, we're excited to share that Dfns is now generally available. Anyone can sign up, create wallets, and start building with our infrastructure. And that includes a 30-day free trial, a new Starter Plan at $50/month, and automated billing powered by Stripe and Lago. But before we get to all that, here’s why we waited and what this means for the future.
Why general availability took time
Since the beginning, we’ve chosen to prioritize signal over noise. That meant saying “no” to a lot of things. We didn’t chase vanity metrics like user signups or GitHub stars. We didn’t rush to onboard random developers who weren’t building for real-world use cases. And we didn’t push half-baked product features just to meet a roadmap. Instead, we focused on working with serious teams moving real money.
Over the last years, we’ve partnered with neobanks, fintechs, exchanges, stablecoin issuers, custodians, investment apps, and other organizations who were processing volume, generating revenue, and scaling fast. These teams helped us battle-test our product under real pressure. Their feedback shaped everything from how we handle blockchain downtime, to how we recover from transaction failures, to how governance policies get enforced and much more. The result? A wallet infrastructure platform that’s resilient, predictable, and production-grade. And now, it’s finally ready for everyone.
What the Starter Plan enables now
If you’ve been waiting to try Dfns, now’s your moment. We’re officially open to the public with:
- Free 30-day trial: No credit card required. Spin up wallets, test across chains, trigger webhooks, and start building without friction.
- Starter Plan ($50/mo): Designed for early-stage teams. Includes automated billing via Stripe. Perfect for apps that are in development or beginning to onboard users.
- Self-service upgrade: Move up to the Basic Plan when you’re ready for higher throughput, multi-team access, and more advanced features.

Next step: make wallets cost free
In the long run, we believe wallet access should be free. If you’re building something valuable for the ecosystem, paying upfront for wallet infrastructure is a barrier that slows you down. But to make wallets cost free, we need volume (i.e. more apps, more activity, and more value moving through the system). That’s what will help us reach the scale needed to cover infrastructure costs and eventually make wallets free for all developers. This is step one. We're opening the gates and inviting everyone in. Whether you're launching a DeFi app, adding stablecoins to a bank, or just hacking on weekends. We built Dfns for you.
